THE
NATIVE AMERICAN MEDICINE WHEEL CIRCLE OF LIFE
The
children will gather between the tee-pee and the sweat lodge,
in front of a thirty-two foot diameter arrangement of stones.
The children will be shown an ancient wooden box, from which
a collection of small colored stones will be removed. The
stones will be arranged on a deerskin in the shape of a wheel
with four spokes. The stones will be used to symbolize all
of creation, and are referred to as the Native American Medicine
Wheel, or The Circle of Life. Each child will be given a handout,
which will help to later consider the deep meanings as they
arrange their own collections.
JULIE AUSTIN CHILDREN'S CONCERT
Ph. (734) 677-3575 or (734) 604-0866
Children's performer Julie
Austin delights audiences across the states with her popular
songs and early childhood workshops. In live performances
she encourages her audience to sing, move, and dance throughout
the concert. Julie also uses sign mime (a combination of sign
language and gestures) which gets everyone involved.
PAPER CRANES
FOR PEACE
Learn to fold origami
paper cranes, a symbol of peace, which will be sent to "The
Children's Peace Monument in Peace Memorial Park, also called
the "Tower of a Thousand Cranes." The monument began
4 decades ago in Hiroshim-Japan, and receives approximately
10 million cranes each year!
PEACE TRAIN ART
Create drawings, words
of peace, poems or dreams of peace and happiness on art medium.
These special artistic statements will be sent to "The
World Dreams Peace Bridge" and picked up by the "Peace
Train". Images may appear on their web site, or even
on the walls of actual "trains" throughout the world
for travelers to see and derive inspiration from.
